This family run hotel is located 50 yards from the banks of the River Wye on the peaceful northern fringes of the picturesque village of Tintern, just a mile from the famous Tintern Abbey.

The Parva is surrounded by wooded hillsides and is a tranquil haven away from the pressures of the world, where traditional ideas of comfort, courtesy and good food are maintained in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. For lovers of the country life there is no more ideal spot – be it a quiet stroll along the river bank, watching the swans glide by, the occasional salmon leaping, or catching a glimpse of the wily fox stalking the rabbits playing on the river bank in the early morning dew.

This south facing stone building, rebuilt around the mid 17th C, offers a high standard of comfort and relaxation, with its large beamed lounge, intimate restaurant, well appointed bedrooms and small, well stocked “suntrap” garden, from which you can enjoy the stunning view of the Wye Valley.

With a selection of magazines and NO television, the lounge is an ideal place to relax. Serve yourself with a drink from the “honesty bar”and sink into the leather Chesterfield sofas after a busy day sightseeing or walking, pass the time with other guests and discover other places to visit during your stay.

The Parva has 8 bedrooms (one with 4 poster bed) are individually decorated and furnished to a high standard, most with river and valley view. All rooms are en-suite with R/C colour television, radio alarm, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. We allow small dogs in two of our bedrooms for a small cover charge. The Parva is entirely non-smoking and we only take children 12yrs. of age and over.

We offer an a la carte evening menu in our Inglenook Restaurant. With its 14ft beamed fireplace. this room, has an intimate, cosy atmosphere and is an ideal place to enjoy a traditional home cooked meal with a bottle of fine wine from our selective wine list, including Parva Wine, made from grapes grown on the hillside farm overlooking the Parva Farmhouse Hotel.

The Abbey Hotel sits in a prime location on the side of the beautiful Wye Valley,
overlooking the ruins of the famous Tintern Abbey, which was founded in 1131.

Parts of the hotel building date back to 1206 when it was inside the original precinct wall of the Abbey.

Accommodation
The newly refurbished Abbey Hotel has 23 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms featuring power showers and most with baths. Each of our magnificently appointed rooms also has satellite digital TV, alarm clock and radio, direct dial telephone, broadband internet access, trouser press and tea/coffee making facilities. Add on our famous complimentary decanter of Madeira in your room upon arrival and you’ve got the perfect place for a luxury weekend break in the UK.

For that extra special occasion we have two luxury bedrooms – one with a four poster bed, the other with a magnificent sleigh bed. Both luxury rooms feature Double Touchtronic spa baths for the ultimate in self-indulgent relaxation, plus the best views in the village of Tintern Abbey. Which can be seen from over half our rooms.

Wye Valley Hotel

The Wye Valley Hotel is situated in an area of breathtaking natural beauty
at Tintern in the heart of the Wye Valley.

The Wye River runs through the village less than 100 yards from the hotel. The world Famous 12th Century Tintern Abbey is only a five-minute walk away.

We Have nine en-suite rooms, we pride ourselves on being able to give individual attention to our guests so that their stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as it can possibly be. All rooms are equipped with colour televisions, direct dial telephones, toiletries and tea/coffee making facilities. Laundry service is available on request.

Our Chef uses fresh local produce and can cater for any special dietary needs and choices range from speciality steaks to Welsh, and international dishes.

There is ample car parking at the front and rear of the hotel. We can also provide secure storage for bicycles. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement, and with the exception of the restaurant, are allowed in all areas.

We are open all year with special dinner, bed and breakfast breaks.

Bed and Breakfast at Forest Cottage, Tintern, Wye Valley

Welcome to our comfortable and convenient bed and breakfast accommodation. We offer you a completely private, detached stone built cottage situated on our small, organic farm in Tintern Forest. It is located eight miles from the Severn Bridge on the M4/ M48, and just 1.2 miles above Tintern Village in beautiful Monmouthshire with its many castles and ancient churches.

The spacious, light and airy twin-bedded room has an en-suite shower and toilet and a separate dining/ kitchen area equipped with electric cooker and washer/ dryer. Outside is a secluded, pretty patio for your own, exclusive use. It is surrounded by a flower garden and fruit orchard.

Breakfast is served in our cottage conservatory overlooking the flower garden and orchard.
Our ingredients are farm fresh, organic and home made as far as possible.
