A family owned and run hotel of 18 rooms
set in a grade II star listed 16th century ancestral home.
Our 10 named and tastefully themed rooms in the original building are full of individual character – some with four posters, exposed roof beams and wall panels. A further 8 rooms are set out in our West Wing. Nearly all are en suite or private bathrooms adjacent. A la carte dining and table de'hote menus are served in our restaurant, the former Great Hall, whilst bar snacks and teas are available in our bars, lounges, conservatory, patio and gardens. The room will receive their names, specialist illustrations and reading materials from mid March onwards.
The hotel is situated 200 yards east of the Whitchurch village turn from the A40/A449 sign posted Symonds Yat West. This road is a dead-end and therefore there is little if any traffic noise as the hotel has gardens to the front and rear. There is ample secure parking at the side of the hotel with CCTV coverage.

Walnut Tree Cottage Breakfast is a full traditional grill, or vegetarian, just as you wish. As experienced proprietors, Keith and Jennie know the importance of an enjoyable meal to round off the day. Keith and Jennie are happy to cater for vegetarians and special diets. And have a residential license, and the small wine list features a personal selection from around the world. A selection of teas or coffee will be served in the lounge after your meal.
All Walnut Tree Cottage guest bedrooms have central heating, are tastefully furnished, and have private facilities.

The kitchen at the chalet is equipped with all you need to make your stay there a home from home and a welcome pack of milk, bread, tea and coffee etc. will be waiting for you when you arrive.
However, there is a variety of pubs and restaurants in the locality if you don't feel like cooking during your stay. A barbecue is also available for guests to use upon request.
