A 12th century Cistercian Monastery
full of history and character.
he Priory is nestled within the historic town of Caerleon on the River Usk. Dating back to 1180, this hotel was originally a Cistercian monastery. It has a fantastic à la carte restaurant, and is situated in secluded grounds in the historic town of Caerleon, on the River Usk.
Many of the traditional rooms at The Priory Hotel retain original period features, and all come with a flat-screen multi-channel TV. Rooms all have picturesque views, their own bathroom, and a work desk.
Each morning, breakfast is provided in the Oak Panel Room, with its antique stained glass and wooden panels that date back to 1622. The restaurant offers a wide-ranging menu for evening meals, and outdoor seating is available in the pretty gardens.
The centre of Newport is just a 10-minute drive from The Priory. Cardiff and Bristol can both be reached in around 30 minutes by car.
This property also has one of the best-rated locations in Newport! Guests are happier about it compared to other properties in the area.
Couples particularly like the location — they rated it 9.2 for a two-person trip. |
