The Speech House Hotel in the Royal Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire was built in 1676 as a hunting lodge for Charles II (his arms can still be seen in the stonework above the exit door to the Verderers Court). Woodside Cottage is a comfortable furnished cottage set in the beautiful Cannop Valley Nature reserve in the very heart of the Royal Forest Of Dean. Walk out of the garden gate into oak woodlands. Woodside Cottage has a large fenced garden complete with barbeque and garden furniture. Watch the birds feed at the bird feeders, woodpeckers and nuthatches are some of the regular visitors which can be seen feeding through the dining room window.
The cottage is 100 yards from the start of the cycle track and the cycle hire centre, there is a storage shed for those who wish to bring there own cycles. Forest Road is in Milkwall, in the heart of the Forest of Dean.

It makes an ideal base for a long weekend, walking or cycling around the forest and is situated just 5 minutes walk from a public path leading to the main forest trails.

The house is semi-detached, with two bedrooms, a living room and Kitchen / Diner. One bedroom has a double bed and the other has a bunk bed, sleeping two.

The living room sofa also folds out to make a comfortable double bed. The bathroom includes an electric shower and the house has central heating.

There is a patio area in the garden and a barbecue available. There is also a lockable bike store at the back of the garden. At the front of the house there is a parking area for one car.

GENERAL

Duvets, bed linen and towels are provided and gas and electricity is included in the rental cost. The house is served by gas central heating. The garden area is enclosed both front and rear and some picnic furniture is provided.

There is off road parking for one vehicle near to the rear of the property.

Our holiday lets normally operate on a weekly basis but shorter breaks may also be available.

The property is available from 3 pm on the day your holiday begins and you must vacate by 10-30 am on the day of departure.

We pride ourselves that you will find the property clean, comfortable, well equipped and in a good state of repair so we ask you to treat it with respect and leave it in the same good order.

Smoking within the house is not permitted and pets are not accepted unless by special arrangement.

Off peak £175 per week to £375 during peak times. A 10% reduction is available for the second week if your holiday is of two weeks duration. A completed booking form together with a 20% non refundable deposit is required when you book .The balance together with the £50 indemnity charge falls due 4 weeks prior to the first day of the hire.
